Yesterday came the surprising announcement that Michael Douglas has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Ant-Man, directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). It's surprising not only because it's Michael Douglas, but because Marvel pulled a rather fun fast one on us.

     Looking back at the press release for Paul Rudd's casting, it's obvious Marvel did not mention which Ant-Man alter-ego Rudd would be playing. We all assumed it would be Dr. Henry Pym (the original). Yesterday's news confirms that it will actually be Douglas portraying Pym. And in "oh-by-the-way" fashion, Marvel lists Paul Rudd as Pym's successor, Scott Lang, in that same announcement.

     And you wonder why nobody's liking you right now, Warner Bros./DC?
